| Will my current plan pay for your service? And if I join TrustCare should I keep my current managed care plan? | |
|
My annual fee may be reimbursable by Health Savings Account-style coverage. As a rule, however, it is not covered by Managed Care or Medicare reimbursements, even on an “out of network” basis. Any individual decision to stay in or change health care plans should be approached on a case-by-case basis. We will offer our members (or prospective members) some resources to help in this decision. Members may wish or have no other choice with their employers than to stay on their current Managed Care Plan. There may be some benefits to this option with regard to referrals and prescription benefits. In addition, tests and therapies that are ordered by me should be covered by Medicare and most PPO and Open Access style plans that do not require the order or “prior-authorization” of an “in-network” provider. You may come to me, yet still have another designated “PCP” on your Plan, in order to approve referrals and such. I’ll help you with that as much as I can. However, patients who choose TrustCare will generally find that a Health Savings Account Plan with high deductible will be more economical than staying on a restrictive and expensive Managed Care Plan. |
